Ovumia is a pioneer in fertility treatments. Every year, we perform the majority of our treatments using donor eggs. As leaders in our field, we provide all the support, expertise, and care you need throughout the donation process.
We provide the highest quality donated eggs, thanks to our own egg bank (The Ovumia Egg Bank) in Finland. Our donation program includes both fresh and frozen donated eggs. For treatments with egg donation, we work closely with our Finnish clinics. If partner sperm is used, it will be sent to Finland for fertilization. When fertilization is complete, the blastocyst will be sent to our clinic in Stockholm for the embryo transfer.

At Ovumia we have a dedicated and high-quality egg donation (“non-anonymous donor”, “known donor”) program that is the longest running and most successful in Finland and in whole Scandinavia, with 50 % of couples achieving a livebirth from a single donation. We have an active egg donor program and both fresh and frozen donor gametes (the Ovumia Egg Bank) are available. This makes the planning and timing of the treatment fast and convenient. Our fertility center is situated in Stockholm.
Currently our fertility clinic performs successfully over 75 % of all egg donation treatments in Ovumia clinics, for both international and domestic customers.

How does the egg donor process work?
- Contact our clinic. We will help you book a Teams meeting or a first time visit with one of our doctors.
- Meet the doctor remotly with Teams or face to face.
- Your personal patient coordinator will provide you with further instructions and guide you through the whole egg donation process.
- Our donor coordinator matches you with the best possible donor. You can wish for certain characteristics (height, eye, hair and skin colour).
- In frozen donor egg IVF process your endometrium is medically prepared for the embryo transfer (with fresh donor eggs your cycle is also synchronized with the donor). You can do this and the follow-up ultrasounds in your own country. We thaw the eggs and fertilize them with your husband’s fresh or frozen sperm or use donor sperm (in egg donor treatment with fresh eggs this needs to be done on donor’s egg retrieval day). After a few days we will do the embryo transfer (and freeze all other good quality embryos) or freeze all the embryos to be used later in the frozen embryo transfer.
- You can take a pregnancy test 2 weeks after the embryo transfer. You have over 60 % chance to get pregnant with the first attempt!
